There is no better way to discover all the hidden treasures the Galapagos Islands have to offer than by navigating the archipelago aboard a small explorer yacht, following the epic journey of the HMS Beagle which took Charles Darwin to the enchanted islands in 1835. Today, Aqua Mare offers guests the opportunity to embark on the first true superyacht luxury experience in the Galapagos, with the choice of four five-star itineraries that sail across the east and west islands of the archipelago.
Each of the islands varies in age and geology, which means there will be key differences between the sites and landscapes you encounter in both itineraries. Given that the Nazca plate perpetually shifts east, the island formations situated farthest from the Galapagos hotspot are the oldest, such as San Cristobal and Española, which are approximately 4 million years old. You will notice that the older eastern islands are greener as they have had more time to develop a richer and deeper soil for forests and vegetation to thrive. The islands located on the west are younger, as is the case of Fernandina Island, created only less than one million years ago and still in formation. The presence of greater volcanic activity in this part of the archipelago makes for spectacular geological formations.
Aqua Mare’s naturalist scientist guides are highly trained in areas such as biology, geology, and conservation. With the most exclusive ratio of eight guests per guide, each day will be packed with personalized and rewarding experiences as you explore the lands and seas of the Galapagos National Park while hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, paddling, or riding in best-in-class private tenders, no matter the itinerary you choose.
Aqua Mare offers the option to combine the east and west seven-night itineraries into a 14-night immersive exploration of the Galapagos Islands for the ultimate lifetime adventure.
